Live Wedding Painting is a growing trend that brings entertainment and authenticity to your special day. Guests are delighted to watch the painting progress over the course of the event, and the couple will come away with a treasured work of art to be cherished for generations to come.

 
 

What’s Included

  • Every couple has a unique vision for their wedding. Prior to the event I will have a consultation with the couple to discuss various options for the painting in order to best capture your special day.

  • On the day of the wedding, I will arrive at your venue 2-4 hours early to begin painting the background and setting the stage for your special moment. As your guests arrive, I will begin adding in the important details of your day.

  • During the reception I will continue to paint so that your guests can see the painting evolve! I will use reference photos captured of the couple during your ceremony or reception. I guarantee 3-5 hours of live painting performance for your event (depending on intricacy of the painting).

  • The painting will be created using professional grade acrylics on stretched canvas. You can expect a detailed portrait of the couple, featuring your desired backdrop to capture the scenery, decor, and energy of your day! (additional guests will not be included at this time, but pets can be added for an additional fee).

  • By the end of the reception the painting will be about 90% complete. I will then bring the painting back to my studio to add the finishing touches. Please allow up to two weeks for completion.

  • Artwork is ready to hang with wire, and with the sides of the canvas painted for a seamless look

  • Once the work is complete, I will deliver (local couples only) or ship the painting to you!

Additional Details & Travel fees

  • I am based in Humboldt County, CA and am available for travel.

  • A 50% deposit and a signed agreement are required to book your date. The remaining 50% will be required 2 weeks prior to your event.

  • The day of the event, I will require a vendor meal.

  • If the venue is over 80 miles from McKinleyville CA, there is a travel fee for mileage at a rate of $0.60 per mile to/from the event. If the venue is a 3-4 hour drive from McKinleyville CA, hotel reimbursement is required for the night of the event. If the venue is a 5 hour or more drive, a flight and hotel are required for the day before the Event and the day following the event. Please reach out for a specific travel quote for your location.

  • A 5’ x 5’ space at your event for me to paint in that is close to an outlet, access to water, and is easily accessible for guest viewing.

Portrait Commission from a Photo

The most frequent question I get asked at weddings is "would you be willing to paint from a photo of my wedding?” and the the answer is always “YES!”

In fact, because portrait commissions from photos are painted in the studio, I am happy to create a portrait-based work of art for you from any occasion or moment. Pricing for portrait commissions vary based on the size of the canvas and complexity of the image. To give you an idea of what you might expect, my starting rate for a wedding painting from a photo is $450. That said, I’m happy to work with you to discuss your vision and budget.
